Flu epidemic in Martinique
City doctors (Network of sentinel doctors) noted an increase in the number of clinically suggestive cases for the last week, with 565 cases compared to 470 on average over the previous four weeks.
Home visits (SOS doctors) are increasing, with 79 visits recorded last week compared to an average of 37 visits the previous four weeks.
Emergency visits are also on the rise with 15 visits recorded compared to an average of 7 visits over the last four weeks. 5 hospitalizations were observed after going to the emergency room compared to 2.
Pre-flu epidemic in Guadeloupe
City doctors observe that cases clinically suggestive of influenza are increasing with 450 cases compared to an average of 290 cases over the previous four weeks.
5 hospitalizations after visits to the emergency room were observed compared to 2 visits on average over the previous four weeks.
An increase was also observed with 12 visits to the Emergency Department compared to an average of 7 visits the previous four weeks.
The bronchiolitis epidemic continues but is decreasing
The bronchiolitis epidemic is still ongoing in Martinique and Guadeloupe, even if all indicators, although still high, are decreasing.
In Martinique, Santé Publique France noted 145 visits per week compared to 160 (average of the previous 4 weeks) among city doctors. No visits were recorded by SOS Médecins. The number of emergency room visits went from 33 (4-week average) to 10 over the past week.
In Guadeloupe, town doctors carry out 45 consultations (compared to 95) and the number of emergency visits increases from 9 to 35. Hospitalizations are decreasing (only 1 compared to 7 on average over the last 4 weeks).
