The city of Nice will create a medical center at 27, rue du professor Delvalle. It will also host the headquarters of the RespirERA Institute, dedicated to respiratory diseases. This project combines local care and research. It will aim to improve access to care and strengthen prevention in the neighborhood.
The Municipal Council of Nice has validated the creation of a medical center managed by the city. It will be located at 27 rue du professor Delvalle. This project also includes the establishment of the headquarters of the RespirERA University Hospital Institute, dedicated to respiratory diseases.
This structure aims to strengthen the provision of care in a sector of the city where access to medical services sometimes remains limited. This project, which follows a first medical center opened to Saint-Roman-de-Belletis part of the desire to Christian Estrosi to bring care closer to residents.
The building, which is located opposite the Pasteur hospital, will also house the RespirERA University Hospital Institute. This initiative combines local care and research in respiratory health, thus offering double vocation to this space. The medical center, dedicated to general medicine, will be used to relieve congestion in local emergencies. It will allowimprove access to care for residents of the Pasteur and Bon-Voyage districts.
A research and prevention center
The RespirERA University Hospital Institute, which will focus on respiratory diseases, will benefit from this strategic location. This research center, supported by the Nice University Hospital, the University of Côte d'Azur, Inria and Inserm, focuses on pathologies such as COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis and lung cancer. The site will make it possible to set up innovative prevention and screening systems.
The objective is to offer the people of Nice a coherent care pathway, focused on prevention and public health. This project not only intends to respond to immediate needs of care but also to a long term issue : improve the management of respiratory diseases by creating an ecosystem promoting research and local medicine.
Health professionals, as well as researchers from the Institute, will have the opportunity to benefit from this synergy to offer innovative solutions. All while adapting to the needs of the local population. A call for expressions of interest is launched to recruit practitioners who will participate in this project, until January 15, 2025.
