They are run by committed professionals.
As part of the Local Health Contract, Cauvaldor has launched an initiative to promote emotional and sexual life education for young people. Recommended by the World Health Organization, this approach prepares new generations to build fulfilling relationships, develop their personality and autonomy, while providing them with reliable information on essential subjects such as contraception, voluntary interruption pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections or even birth plans.
> A cycle of workshops led by committed professionals
This action was based on a rich and complementary partnership between Cauvaldor, Promotion santé Occitanie, the Maison des ados et des Jeunes du Lot (MDA) and health professionals from the Multidisciplinary Health Center (MSP) of Souillac.
Concretely, several workshops were offered in November and December to young people attending the local mission of Souillac and the youth space of Gramat. These meetings, led by professionals from the MDA and the MSP, made it possible to address varied and essential themes such as:
– psychological and physical changes during adolescence,
– emotions and feelings,
– the definition of consent,
– prevention of sexually transmitted infections,
– the risk of unwanted pregnancy and contraception.
A facilitator from the youth area accompanied the middle school students during this cycle of workshops, in order to encourage exchanges in a climate of trust and listening.
> Fun tools for fruitful exchanges
The speakers implemented fun and interactive tools, facilitating discussions and the involvement of young people. Some participants even pointed out that these themes, sensitive and sometimes difficult to discuss, were rarely discussed within the family.
These workshops made it possible to raise awareness of the professionals and resource places present in the region, so that young people can identify them beyond the family sphere or their school establishment.
> Essential financial support
This action benefited from financial support from health insurance, thanks to a call for projects from the National Fund for Prevention, Education and Health Information (FNPEIS), to which the community of municipalities responded successfully.
With this cycle of workshops, Cauvaldor confirms its commitment to health prevention and the well-being of young people, helping them to build an enlightened and responsible future.
