Seasonal flu: Recommendations from the Ministry of Health

In anticipation of the peak of seasonal flu expected in January, the Ministry of Health published, this Monday, December 16, 2024, recommendations for protecting yourself against the virus.

The Ministry of Health recalled that the flu is not serious and generally lasts two to three days, with sometimes severe fever and called on the most vulnerable people, particularly the elderly and those with chronic illnesses, to get vaccinated against the flu (Evax)

Recommendations from the Ministry of Health:

  • Frequent hand washing;
  • Do not kiss children, especially infants;
  • If you have flu symptoms, wear a mask when in contact with infants;
  • Avoid gatherings;
  • Ventilation of houses and closed spaces.
  • See a doctor and reduce pressure on hospitals
  • Take medical advice and avoid self-medication

The flu can cause serious complications for the most vulnerable people and vaccination against seasonal flu is strongly recommended for them, adds the same source.
