The flu season is setting in across the country. Cases are increasing over the weeks.

As with every winter, the Health Department continues its monitoring of the main acute respiratory infections. Between the 18th and the 24th November, the number of positive Covid-19 cases decreased from 116 to 72 cases, a drop of 38 % compared to the previous week.

Please note, according to state services, flu cases declared by laboratories have increased, from 29 to 57, an increase of 97 % compared to the previous week. Compared to the last flu season, the number of cases follows the logical evolution of the curve. During the winter of 2023/2024, the peak of the epidemic was reached at the beginning of February. Cases had not stopped rising until then.

For respiratory syncytial virus, responsible for bronchiolitis in toddlers, an increase in cases has been observed, with 65 confirmed cases, compared to 53 the previous week. The epidemic nevertheless seems less strong than during the winter of 2023/2024, when the peak of the epidemic took place in mid-December.

The Health Department specifies that it has not recorded any cases of whooping cough from the 18th to the 24th November.
