The celebration of World Diabetes Day this year focused on the theme “Diabetes and Well-Being”. She challenged all people suffering from this disease to the possibility of benefiting from a better quality of life. The AFC, which does not want to remain on the sidelines of this celebration, will organize, on November 30, awareness raising about this pathology.
The founding president of the AFC, Laetitia Céleste Ngassaki, through a message she delivered, invited the Congolese population, in general, and Brazzaville, in particular, to take part in this awareness raising which will be coupled with free screening. “We invite the Congolese population, in general, and Brazzaville, in particular, to join us, to come and meet us in order to learn a little more about this pathology with devastating consequences. In addition to that, we are going to offer free diabetes screening, which is very important because there are a lot of diseases that we carry around that are linked to diabetes, a very sneaky disease. Let the Congolese think about their health, because diabetes is a very dangerous disease and kills slowly”insisted the founding president of the AFC.
Laetitia Céleste Ngassaki also indicated that her association which campaigns for two causes, in particular the fight against the marginalization or mistreatment of young mothers (young adolescents who become pregnant without support or support); and the fight against ignorance of the dangers linked to diabetes, officially launched its large-scale actions in the fight against diabetes and the support of unmarried mothers since July 15, 2023. Last May, the AFC, with its nine office members and twenty-nine volunteers, organized a conference debate on diabetes and its secrets on the theme “The voice of the voiceless”, at the Pierre-Savorgnan-de-Brazza memorial, under the sponsorship of the general director of this space, Bélinda Ayessa.
Note that nearly four hundred million people around the world are affected by diabetes.
