The project was born from an observation: if people live longer thanks to advances in medicine, this does not mean that patients do not have after-effects of the disease and therefore physical, psychological, social or health-related vulnerabilities. their environment.
But to know how to treat patients, we must know their needs and create the means to respond to them by offering training to practitioners wishing to develop a multidisciplinary approach. Opening an observatory for the prevention of vulnerabilities in Burgundy-Franche-Comté was therefore necessary. Objective: collect data, undertake research and develop a specific clinic in order to consider and treat the patient as a whole.
The Regional President highlighted the work already done: “ You are embarking on an immense adventure, that of understanding, approaching, alleviating the suffering that medical treatment alone cannot eradicate. “. And Marie-Guite Dufay added: “ With this unique approach in the world, we are at the heart of a very big breakthrough. I am happy and proud that the Region can support you ».
Around 70 people were present at this first conference, for this project created in conjunction with the Regional Health Observatory. The Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region supports the Institute under the Envergure call for projects.
