“Faced with diabetes, men and women united for the best and for the future. »

The French Diabetics Federation is pleased to announce the launch of its new call for donations campaign to support all of its missions and particularly, this year, its actions in favor of women and men with diabetes.

In , 4.3 million people live with diabetes. Among them, more than 55% are men (the trend is reversed in the DROMs with a majority of women). However, the observation is the following: men and women experience their diabetes in different ways and this is clearly linked to gender. Men are generally diagnosed younger and follow their treatments better than women. Women monitor their diabetes less well due to the daily mental burden linked to their work and family; they are also more often affected by eating disorders, anxiety or depression. The differences between men and women with diabetes are numerous and sometimes highlight gender-related inequalities. The issues are therefore multiple, both socio-economically, physically and psychologically.

With this knowledge, the Federation is positioning itself for differentiated care between men and women affected by diabetes, and continues its actions to accompany and support everyone in their daily lives, inform about the different diabetes, prevent their complications, defend individually and patients collectively, and support research and innovation.

Throughout the year, our loyal donors and benefactors have generously contributed to our actions and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.

But the needs are ever greater to continue acting on all fronts of the disease: your loyalty and solidarity are essential in this crucial period of generosity.

Each donation is precious in reaching, by December 31, the €200,000 essential for the implementation of all of our missions in 2025.

How does the Federation use donations? Here are some examples:

  • A donation of €60 finances 2 calls on the Solidarity Listening line, provided by our Patient Expert Volunteers;
  • A donation of €100 funds a day of advocacy;
  • A donation of €280 finances one day of work for a research team.

Join today our donors and benefactors already committed alongside us to support men and women united for the best and for the future in the face of diabetes!
