Dr Cohen’s opinion on these 7 eye supplements for less than 20 euros

Screens, dryness, fatigueaging… Our eyes are often subjected to severe tests. To take care of it, diet can play an important role. Some fruits like blueberrygrapes, blackcurrants, melons and maqui berries have interesting properties to protect them. The same goes for certain plants, including marigold, green teaolive tree, marigold, and even saffron.

In his book “Food supplements: make the right choice!”, published by First, Doctor Jean-Michel Cohen analyzes hundreds of supplements, adapted to several health problems. The nutritionist doctor notably gives his opinion on sixteen products targeting the visionseven of which cost less than 20 euros.

As a reminder, in addition to food, there is nothing better for your eyes than limit screen useor at least provide yourself with special glasses. As for attacks from the sun, they can be warded off using category 3 or 4 protective glasses.

Arkocaps Blueberry and Lutein food supplements are the first to be scrutinized by our expert. Produced by Arkopharma laboratories, they improve visual acuity, and are sold from 10.79 to 13.50 euros for 45 capsules or three weeks.

Dr. Cohen’s opinion on this product is mixed. The doctor welcomes a good formula that he considers “clean”, but he deplores the little lutein present, especially since this nutrient appears in the name of the product.

Ergyoptyl is one of the nutritionist doctor’s favorites. This drug from the Nutergia laboratory is sold at 18.90 euros in the form of a syrup for a duration of approximately two weeks. Its promises are numerous: support for eye function, prolonged exposure to screens, driving and nighttime glare.

Likewise, Dr Cohen’s compliments towards it are multiple: he is delighted with the large quantity of plants and minerals, but also with the good quality of the additives, present in small numbers.

This is not the same story for Ophtaplex supplements from the Santé Verte brand. These thirty tablets, to be consumed between 10 and 30 days, are intended for normal vision and sold between 15.80 and 18 euros.

However, they received the mention “slack” from our expert. In question? The large quantity of additives, which the doctor regrets, especially since the name of the brand says “green”. He still welcomes a “complete formula that combines a lot of active ingredients”.

The Lehning laboratory has, for its part, developed gummies, which have been very fashionable in recent years. The box of 40 gums, or 10 days, costs 9.90 euros and is certified to help combat visual fatigue, blue light and the effects of exposure to screens.

Only, it’s another blow for the nutritionist. The latter disapproves of the ingredients, judging their quality disappointing.

Our expert’s second favorite is attributed to the Suvéal Duo Vision supplements, from Densmore laboratories. The thirty capsules, corresponding to one month of treatment, are sold for 17.90 euros. They claim to help maintain normal vision, specifically in cases of ocular aging.

Dr. Cohen is delighted with an “interesting formula” which combines antioxidants and a good quantity of omega 3. He adds that the product contains few additives and praises the good quality/price ratio.

The Léa Nature de Biosens brand is the only one on the list to offer food supplements from organic farming, with the AB label. They are also the cheapest, with 9.70 euros for 40 capsules, or three weeks. They promise to improve visual comfort.

Dr. Cohen’s opinion on this brand is rather neutral. He seems to appreciate its plant content, its naturalness and its low price, but regrets the lack of blueberry, DHA and vitamin A.

Finally, the Vision tablets from Granions laboratories are analyzed. The box, sold at 16.90 euros, lasts between three and four weeks and claims to protect the eyes from blue light and dryness, thanks in particular to hyaluronic acid.

However, our doctor explains that this substance, although it is good for the eyes in drops, is not necessarily as effective when ingested. He still welcomes a “well-dosed” formula that “limits additives”.
