The momentum seems to be underway. Already more than 4,000 registrations have been recorded for the next edition. Knowing that in 2023, the number of 4,800 participants was reached on September 10. “You shouldn’t delay registering because many people do it at the start of the school year,” warns Isabelle Nuixe, president of KempeR’Ose.
A thousand participants from Sainte-Thérèse
This year, the municipality is going to take action. She will in fact present a team “to unite the agents around the cause”, specifies Christelle Queré, assistant in charge of sports practices.
Furthermore, “more and more companies are using KempeR’Ose as a day of cohesion for their workforce,” adds Isabelle Nuixe. Thus, around 200 CPAM employees will be there. The Sainte-Thérèse school complex will be represented by 1,000 runners!
€75,903 raised
As a reminder, the KempeR’Ose brings together runners and walkers on a route of approximately 6 km in the city of Quimper, with the aim of raising funds for the prevention and fight against breast cancer.
Last year, €75,903 was raised. And, since the first edition, no less than €213,169 has been raised. A sum which made it possible to finance the purchase of high-tech equipment, such as virtual headsets so that the patient is in a bubble of comfort, but also hair prostheses, relaxing massage chairs, well-being treatments and socio-care -aesthetics, adapted sports sessions…
If it is not finalized, the route this year will be 6.92 km. In broad terms: departure at 9 a.m. from Place de la Résistance, with a passage via Boulevard Dupleix, the historic center, the Cornouaille theater, the quays to Locmaria, before returning to Place de la Résistance.
“Surprises” in the boxes
The film of the big departure choreography has been shot and will be sent by email soon to the participants, so that they can rehearse.
This year, on the Place de la Résistance, thirsty people will be able to pedal on “juice bikes” to get their fresh fruit juice. Other new features: an aperitif concert is scheduled from 11:45 a.m.; with a big raffle that will include all those registered. “Other surprises” await the participants, assures Isabelle Nuixe, who is delighted with the arrival of the Lann-Bihoué bagad
As usual, a host of activities will punctuate the route: concerts, brass bands, rowing on the Odet, mountain biking, makeup workshop, etc.
A 160 m2 “prevention village” will occupy the Place de la Résistance, with 40 health professionals, associations, prevention stands, self-examination, adapted sports, workshops, massages, etc.
