Call for volunteers.
Credit : League against cancer
The Cantal Cancer League opens a new branch in Saint-Flour. An antenna which was dormant but which, thanks to a network of very active volunteers, has risen from its ashes. Doctor Michelle Lablanquie, president of the Cantal Cancer League: “The objective is to put in place everything that makes up the League against Cancer, that is to say supportive care, set up and expand the activity, publicize the activity and maintain regularly to inform the population of Saint-Flour and the surrounding area of all the help that can be provided in all areas regarding cancer.” The premises were provided by Saint-Flour community, at the territorial health center on rue du Docteur Mallet. Offices will be held twice a month, the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Adapted care
Supportive care will also be developed. “We have already set up a dietetics workshop with a state-certified dietician who comes twice a month to the Saint-Flour social center, continues Michelle Lablanquie. Our objective is to set up psychological workshops based on individual and then collective interviews and to develop adapted physical activities, that is to say adapted gym.” Please note that supportive care is financed by the League and therefore free for patients. In Saint-Flour, the diet workshop is held every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the social center. The socio-aesthetic workshops will be held every Thursday morning in the medical department of Saint-Flour hospital.
