Charlotte Poudroux, professional photographer from Penvénan, exhibits fifteen photos of women, aged 30 to 62, showing the damage of the disease”, she specifies. All of these women have a word written on their chest, which corresponds to what cancer has put them through. Mostly positive messages. The photographer specifies, the aim is to encourage women to be screened and to regularly feel their breasts to detect the possible appearance of an anomaly.

Photos of breasts can shock: that’s the goal

Around fifteen residents and one man attended the presentation punctuated by an exchange in which Laëtitia Hervé, deputy director of the hospital center, Lydie Martinez, healthcare executive, Stéphanie Francez, facilitator, and Charlotte Poudroux participated. We support residents in their life journey. This exhibition, which has its place at the nursing home, offers a subject for discussion. We must continue with this type of approach,” underlines Laëtitia Hervé who congratulates Stéphanie Francez for her initiative. It is an opening of the nursing home to the outside.

Stéphanie Francez confirms: Residents and their families are talking about it. Lydie Martinez made the observation, Everyone thinks differently. The photos can be shocking. There are reactions, given the inevitable generation barrier. Lydie Martinez adds: It is a very good subject which mobilizes the staff of the hospital center and encourages the facilitators of the different nursing homes to promote this exhibition which will tour in the other services.

The Saint-Michel residence, inaugurated in 1996, remains a magnificent structure, a modern architectural masterpiece with the village square and the exceptional brightness which offers a living environment much appreciated by residents and their families. School children regularly come to see the other exhibitions and bring a breath of fresh air to elderly people who often suffer from loneliness.
