The Picardy Wallonia Hospital Center is organizing a brain disease awareness day tomorrow, as part of the “Grey in May” campaign. This event aims to inform the general public about neurological diseases such as stroke, brain tumors, epilepsy and neurodegenerative diseases.

The aim is to provide the population with valuable information on the prevention, symptoms and management of these conditions, as well as to promote increased support for patients who suffer from them.

For the general public, the meeting is set between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the reception hall of the Union du ChWapi site in Tournai. Access is free.

The public will notably have the opportunity to visit an informative exhibition on different diseases. The numerous panels will detail the key figures, the symptoms to watch out for and treatment advice. In addition, visitors will be able to interact with neurologists, neurosurgeons, nurses, psychologists, social workers, pharmacists, interventional radiologists as well as occupational therapists and dietitians.

“L’Île en Soi”, an integrative medicine house welcoming patients suffering from cancer, will also be represented. Finally, patients suffering from brain pathologies will be present to share their experiences. These exchanges will promote mutual support.

ChWapi will also provide, free of charge, information on the services available for people affected by brain diseases.
