A first medical team from the wilaya of Oran went, Thursday evening to the wilaya of Aïn Guezzam, as reinforcements, to participate in the campaign to fight malaria and diphtheria, we learned on Saturday , from the local director of health and population, Hadj Boutaouaf.

Mr. Boutaouaf indicated, in a statement to the APS, that this operation is part of solidarity with this region, which has recorded cases of malaria and diphtheria imported from the southern border, in order to avoid their spread, stressing that the Minister of Health, Abdelhak Saïhi, gave instructions to send medical teams every week until the situation is completely controlled.

The same official added that the first delegation, made up of 7 doctors and a paramedic, went to Tin Zaouatine, in Ain Guezzam, where they will stay for a week, in order to participate in the malaria vaccination campaign. and diphtheria, as well as the management of registered cases, which will be replaced, periodically, by other teams.

It should be recalled that the Ministry of Health sent large quantities of vaccines, serums and medical equipment (21,000 doses of vaccine and 330 doses of antidiphtheria serums) during the past week to the wilayas of South, which have recorded cases of malaria and diphtheria, in order to ensure optimal patient care.

These operations take place in accordance with the conclusions of the Council of Ministers of October 6 and in application of the instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, concerning the strengthening of health structures in the southern wilayas having recorded cases of diphtheria and malaria. imported.
