A film debate on Charcot’s disease, organized in partnership with the Belloprataine association “Together against ALS”, was sold out on Tuesday April 9 at the Jeanne-d’Arc Cinema.

The insights of an Angevin researcher

The poignant testimonies of Choletais Nicolas Desbordes, author of the book “This coffin that I did not choose” which gives voice to his father who died of this illness, and of Frédéric, whose wife succumbed in January to the same pathology, are all reflections on philosophy and meaning on this relationship between life and death.

As for Professor Philippe Codron, neuroscience researcher at University Hospital, who was by videoconference, he enlightened the public on the disease, on the progress of current research. This ALS specialist is carrying out epidemiological research from Angers on all 22 centers in .

These interventions and the numerous discussions allowed spectators to have a better understanding of the life course linked to this neurodegenerative disease which, gradually, will paralyze the body.

As for the next events proposed at the cinema, on April 19 there will be a literary film on the occasion of the inauguration of the Route d’Artagnan then a documentary film debate on Europe on April 26.
