In Chauvigny, the Regional Authors' Fair, organized by Pictabook 86 in partnership with the Pictavian publisher, is back at the Charles-Trenet theater for its 11the edition this Sunday January 19, 2025.
“Last year, it attracted around 300 visitors, 80% of whom were buyers.estimates the chauvinist publisher Matthieu Noirot (1), responsible for the demonstration. It is a general fair, without any particular theme and this time it will once again bring together 80 authors, publishers and book artisans. » Among the local authors, we will find regulars like Christian Richard and Michel Cordeboeuf.
“No selection”
The ambition of this literary meeting remains to “promote local authors who are not celebrities and we want to bring culture and reading to rural areas, specifies Matthieu Noirot. In my salons, everyone is in the same boat. We don't just take sizes. We are here to help authors who do not have the means to make major trade fairs or for whom this is their first book”.
The one who is also president of Radio Echo des Choucas adds that every year, “New authors are registering, attracted by the good reputation of the show and its organization. I don't make a selection and registration is at an affordable price. I have people who come from all regions. Fifteen days before, I send them their location in the room.”
