The Arnold Palmer Prize rewarding the best beginner of the year on the PGA TOUR in 2024 did not escape an American. Elected by his peers, Nick Dunlap is the second youngest player to be awarded this trophy after Jordan Spieth in 2013.

“Nick has earned his place in the PGA TOUR record books. To start 2024 as a college golfer and end it with two PGA TOUR wins and a top 50 FedExCup player is truly impressive.” said US Circuit Commissioner Jay Monahan.

First player in PGA Tour history to win as an amateur and professional in the same season Nick Dunlap made history by winning the American Express in January. A victory as an amateur that had not happened for 33 years and a success for Phil Mickelson.

Turning pro after a few days of reflection, he then won the Barracuda Championship.

Three other players were in the running with Nick Dunlap. They are Max Greyserman, Jake Knapp and Matthieu Pavon but the player from the University of Alabama, who will celebrate his 21st birthday on December 23, beat them with 57% of the votes.
