Like the equivalent women’s championships, truncated by half due to the bad weather which raged in the North-West quarter of France, the French Cadets and Minimes championshipswhich were held from Friday to Monday at Governor’s domainwere not spared by the bad weather. A day of competition was thus “skipped”, which forced the organizers to reduce the two events bringing together the best U18s and U16s in France to three stroke play rounds instead of four, with the outcome however maintained for this Monday.
Among the Cadets, who competed for the honor of lifting the Patrick Pons Trophyvictory went to Corentin Guillouxmember of the Toulouse Golf Club, after a play-off against Hugo Brandt (Cannes-Mougins). The two young men had completed the 54 holes of regulation with the same total of 208 strokes (-8), but it was the first who prevailed in sudden death to win the title. Third place went to Sacha Corlouer (Bastide Salette), too short of a unit to accompany its two friends in the play-off.
In the Minimes category, the Yan Le Quellec cut fell into the arms of Justin Charoylicensed in Aix-les-Bains, who with a total of 206 (-10) was ahead by a small length Paul Martin (Paris Country Club), while Sacha Le Helloco (Granville) took the bronze medal in 210.
