Such a youthful face behind the wheel. The surprise was total when the police finally stopped the driver who had just subjected them to a long chase through Val-de-Marne and then Essonne. “She’s only 14 and she was driving, can you believe it?” confided, astonished, Richard Dell’Agnola (LR), the mayor of Thiais.

Because it was in his town that the affair started. Around 2:15 in the morning, on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, one of his night teams from the municipal police spotted a car without lights on Rue des Baudemons. The officers decided to approach the driver in order to try to talk to him. “But she sped off,” says the elected official.

The municipal police officers then followed her with their vehicle while immediately alerting their colleagues from the national police. A frantic chase began. Orly, Athis-Mons (Essonne), Savigny-sur-Orge (Essonne)… For fifteen long minutes, the young girl refused to stop despite the Essonne police officers, their motorcycle colleagues from Val-de-Marne and even members of an anti-crime squad (BAC) who tried to stop her, all with flashing lights and sirens on.

“Spikes at over 100 km/h”

According to our information, she even reached speeds of over 100 km/h. She was so determined that she continued to drive despite one of her flat tires. But at no time did the police lose sight of her.

The chase ended in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois (Essonne), about twenty kilometers from Thiais. The reason? The teenager hit a concrete block with her vehicle, triggering the airbag and forcing her to stop. The motorcyclists and the Essonne police then opened the door and discovered the unexpected profile of the fugitive.

According to our information, the teenager had borrowed her mother’s car. Living in Thiais, she was not known to the justice system to date. The investigation was entrusted to the L’Haÿ-les-Roses police station.
