This is his third medal in Paris, his fifth Paralympic award if we count his two medals in Tokyo. The swimmer from Cercle de Cugnaux (Haute-Garonne) has just won the 200m medley. The other Frenchman competing in this race, the Alsatian Hector Denayer who trains in Dijon, won his second Paralympic medal, bronze.

Three French medals this Thursday in swimming

Ugo Didier, who also trains with the Dauphins du Toec, Léon Marchand’s club, has already hooked gold over 400 meters and the money on 100 meters backstroke. He, who will be 23 years old just after these Games, joins swimmer Alex Portal (four medals) the cyclist Alexandre Léauté (three medals) among the most prolific French athletes in this Parisian edition.

Hector Denayer for his part had already won the silver in the 100 meter breaststroke.

Earlier this afternoon on Thursday, Girondin Laurent Chardard won a second bronze medal in the 100-meter freestyle in his category.
