“Happy 18th birthday Augie, you are officially a grown man,” Salma Hayek celebrated on Instagram Friday, October 11 in honor of her stepson Augustin Pinault. Before continuing the praise: “Your tender heart is like a soothing caress in our lives, you bring light wherever you go. We love you so much.” To accompany his message, François-Henri Pinault’s wife posted a series of photos of him through time. We see the young man sometimes hugging his stepmother, sometimes on a boat alongside his father when he was still a child.
This is not the first time that Salma Hayek has paid tribute to her stepson. For his 17th birthday, the actress had already declared all her affection for him. “You are such a blessing in our lives, may your fiery character make a big difference this year,” the star of Desperado.
Acknowledgment of paternity
Augustin Pinault is little known to the general public. Much less than his two illustrious parents. Born on October 11, 2006, he is none other than the fruit of the romance between François-Henri Pinault, CEO of the luxury group Kering, and top model Linda Evangelista.
The paternity of François-Henri Pinault was not revealed until several years after Augustin’s birth, in June 2007. At the time, the New York Post reveals that Linda Evangelista went to Manhattan Family Court to obtain alimony from the billionaire businessman. In particular, she is asking for $46,000 per month to cover the costs of nanny and private drivers. The matter will ultimately be settled amicably. In 2001, in a magazine interview ELLEcited by The Dispatch François-Henri Pinault will talk about his son: “I recognized him in 2007. Augustin was born on October 11, 2006, when his parents had been separated for more than eight months, and, at every possible opportunity, I involved him in my family life in the United States or France, notably with her sister Valentina, born in September 2007 [la fille qu’il a eue avec Salma Hayek, NDLR] ; he is totally integrated into my family.”
