Present in the England squad for the two Nations League matches, Bukayo Saka and Curtis Jones left the selection before the second match, one for injury, the other for personal reasons.

England face Finland this Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki as part of the fourth day of League B of the Nations League. And the selection of the Three Lions has an interest in winning in Nordic lands since it remains with a regrettable defeat against Greece, now at the top of the group, last Thursday at Wembley (1-2). Lee Carsley’s squad, who took over from Gareth Southgate (while waiting for Thomas Tuchel?) flew to the capital without two important elements of the team. Indeed, Bukayo Saka and Curtis Jones are missing two days before this match.

The former was injured during the match against the European champion in 2004. Starting on the right front of the attack, the winger was replaced by Noni Madueke just after the start of the second half. Affected in the right leg, the first examinations carried out after the match did not reveal anything particular but the medical staff as well as the management and the player unanimously decided to leave it there. The Arsenal player therefore left the selection before his compatriots took the plane, to take additional exams. Objective for him, to be at Bournemouth during the Gunners’ next meeting.

Curtis Jones is the other absentee from the England selection for the match against Finland. But unlike Saka, the Liverpool midfielder left the Three Lions gathering for personal reasons. And according to some rumors, the player joined his partner to attend the birth of his child. These two absences could have an impact on the starting lineup and the choice of animation of Lee Carsley. However, Finland is currently last in the group with three defeats in as many days, one goal scored for seven conceded. The Finns have not won a match since March 26, it was in a friendly against Estonia.
