The day after the first anniversary of the October 7 attacks, and the Hamas attack on Israel, questions to the government took place in a tense climate. National Rally deputy Julien Odoul accused “the extreme left and La insoumise (for having) put a target on the backs of all the Jews of France”. A charge already launched by the president of Crif, Yonathan Arfi, during the ceremony paying tribute to the victims of the attacks against Israel. According to him, LFI is located in “the camp of dishonor”because the party of Jean-Luc Mélenchon “sees resistance fighters where universal conscience recognizes terrorists” et “chooses to hysterize our public debate, by cultivating clientelism and identity assignments”. And to add: “That LFI still finds allies within the Republican left is an outrage, a betrayal”.

During his intervention, Julien Odoul directly challenged Bruno Retailleau: “Mr. Minister of the Interior, in the fight against anti-Semitism, we no longer want words and speeches, but actions. My question is therefore the following: are you going to dissolve the Urgence Palestine association and the ultra-violent far-left group the Young Guard, accused of having attacked a 15-year-old Jewish boy last July in the metro? » According to figures from the Ministry of the Interior, “anti-Semitic acts have exploded by 1,000% in France since the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel.”
