Adapted physical activity: an experiment in Indre

Highlighted this year on the occasion of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in , the promotion of physical and sporting activity is a “great national cause” in 2024.

All serious medical and scientific studies are now unanimous in affirming that physical and/or sporting activity helps to better prevent, or even treat, many diseases, such as cardiovascular conditions, diabetes or obesity.

We still need to allow as many people as possible to have access to these practices, including the most precarious. This is the meaning of the joint initiative of the Regional Academic Delegation for Youth, Commitment and Sports (DRAJES), the Regional Health Agency (ARS), the Health Insurance funds and Indre, in order to enable the financing of adapted physical activity in the two departments selected for this experiment.

Two objectives are targeted: firstly, the experimentation of an activity path adapted to medical prescription, coherent and readable for each user.

It then involves providing funding adapted to users furthest from the practice of physical activity and access to care (with a questionnaire to assess precariousness and health inequalities in health centers). health examinations, allowing the level of reimbursement to be defined).

Coordination in Brenne

This experiment targets people with chronic illnesses. It is also part of the 2024-2028 regional sport-health strategy in Centre-Val de .

The region has 18 sports-health centers, including one in Indre. The Maison sport-santé de la Brenne will thus be in charge of ensuring the smooth running of the experiment on its territory by following users throughout their journey.

This experiment will be the subject of an evaluation involving the funders (DRAJES, ARS, CPAM) as well as the Centre-Val de Loire sport-health coordinator from the Neurocentre network.
