Addicted to series about vampires and zombies, he knows everything about your favorite stars, with a slight preference for what happens across the Atlantic. Although he has the hot blood of the Spanish, he still maintains his very French humor and never shrinks from a well-intentioned play on words.

This Monday, September 30, 2 is broadcasting Fortune de France, an ambitious series, directed by Christopher Thompson. A period fresco in which we notably find an actor from a great cinema family.

For the start of the school year, France Télévisions has decided to bring out the heavy artillery by broadcasting since September 16 a period series which risks becoming a landmark. With Fortune of FranceChristopher Thompson strikes a big blow by bringing together a prestigious cast including Nicolas Duvauchelle, Guillaume Gouix and Grégory Fitoussi. In this series which is set in 1557 in the Périgord Noir, we follow the adventures of a family fighting for its survival in a world prey to the wars of Religion.

Particularly proud of his work, Christopher Thompson confided a few weeks ago to Madame Figaro on this project which is close to his heart and in which he will be able to find an actor he knows particularly well, since it involves his son ! When our colleagues ask him to confide in the pleasure he took in directing his own child, the director in a relationship with actress Géraldine Pailhas, with whom he had Marcelbut also Madeleine, does not hide her satisfaction. Lots of funjust like all the other young actors who bring their extraordinary energy to a set. Marcel tested it quite latebecause he was working on a film in the United States as an assistant, but the actors generally give you keys to the characters: he managed to bring something very intense, dark and at the same time very sunny which I needed for the role of François de Siorac”explains the director.

Marcel, grandson of Danièle Thompson

A big boost in the career of the young 22-year-old actor, who can also count on the valuable advice of his grandmother, who is none other than the famous director, Daniele Thompson. “Working with family doesn’t scare me because if it’s relevant, it develops exciting relationships”adds Christopher Thompson, who did numerous projects with his mother before directing Fortune of France alone. “I notice that collective writing is a very intimate work. It is therefore not so much a liberation, but rather a pleasure of passing from one pair to another or from one team to another while feeling, each time, enriched by previous experiences”analyzes the man whose one of the films was canceled two weeks before filming.

Find Marcel Thompson in Fortune de France, Monday September 30 at 9:05 p.m. on France 2.
