A 12-year-old girl was hit by a motorist on Tuesday at around 6:20 p.m. in Aulnay-sous-Bois (Seine-Saint-Denis). The accident occurred on Avenue du Maréchal-Juin, in front of the Gérard-Philipe middle school where the victim attends. According to our information, the middle school student was leaving the school when the collision occurred.

Fortunately, the teenager’s life is not in danger. She is suffering from a “head wound and pain in a shin,” said a source close to the case. She was taken to the Robert-Ballanger intercommunal hospital in Aulnay-sous-Bois.

The driver was arrested. He tested positive for narcotics, in this case cannabis, and was taken into custody at the Aulnay police station.

Viewing the city’s surveillance cameras, which were able to record the scene, allowed investigators to determine how the events unfolded. Was the driver in question driving at excessive speed? Did he try to flee? The exact circumstances have not been disclosed at this stage of the investigation.

This new road accident resonates with another tragic collision that occurred in Vallauris (Alpes-Maritimes) at the end of August. Kamilya, a 7-year-old girl, died after being hit by a 19-year-old motorcyclist. The young man on a motorbike was doing a wheelie when he hit the little victim who was crossing with his big brother. Initially charged with “unintentional injuries”, the suspect could be prosecuted for “involuntary manslaughter” due to the victim’s death the day after the collision.
