Tuesday, weather temporarily calmer
Temperatures are dropping a little but the weather remains mild south of the Loire with beautiful clear spells. Mistral and tramontane winds are holding in the Mediterranean under the sun. North of the Loire, clouds are thickening throughout the day with drizzle and wind along the coasts of the Channel and the North Sea. More significant rains will become widespread in the evening and during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday.

A polar air mass will rush into France. It will bring unstable and cool weather with widespread showers across ¾ of the country, except in the southeast. Snow is expected from 1800 to 2000 meters in the Pyrenees. The southeast is not affected by the rain but the wind will suddenly strengthen with gusts of 100 km/h.

The weather situation will remain driven by a depression in the North Sea while the Azores high pressure system will try to return via the Atlantic. In this context, we can expect cool and unstable weather over 2/3 of the country with showers slowly easing, especially in the southwest. In the Mediterranean, conditions will remain very windy. It will snow in the Alps above 15 to 1800 meters. Temperatures will be low, between 5 and 12°C in the morning and 13 to 21°C in the afternoon, a level of late October.
