Max Verstappen wants to stay “forever” at Red Bull

Max Verstappen affirmed his desire to stay at Red Bull “forever”despite rumors sending him to Mercedes or Aston Martin in the near future.

Max Verstappen won a fourth World Champion title last weekend, the fourth in a row, at the wheel of a Red Bull. Since the start of his F1 career, the Batavian driver has been supported with strength and enthusiasm by the Red Bull family. After a brief stint at Toro Rosso, Max Verstappen joined Red Bull in 2016 to score his first victory… the rest you know.

At the start of the season, internal struggles made waves within the Austrian team, giving rise to some rumors of departure. The Dutchman was publicly courted at the start of the year by Mercedes. He was also sent to Aston Martin to join legendary F1 designer Adrian Newey.

However, Mac Verstappen, who is under contract with Red Bull until the end of 2028, insists he has no plans to leave the Milton Keynes team any time soon.

The Dutchman also rejected the idea that he would have to win a world title with another team to assert his status among the greatest in history.

“It’s not like I need to try to win the World Championship anywhere else”Verstappen told the PA agency ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix. “This is not a desire on my part. I'm just happy where I am. And it would also be very beautiful if you could stay with one team and race there forever. I would like to believe that [ce pourrait être Red Bull]. That’s the goal.”

With the performances of the single-seaters tightening, next season the competition is likely to be strong. However, Max Verstappen knows that by staying with Red Bull, the team will do everything possible to make its flagship driver triumph once again. By winning a fifth title and effectively equaling Juan Manuel Fangio, Max Verstappen would become Red Bull's most successful driver.
