Formula 1 | Tsunoda signs his best qualification in F1 with a third place

Yuki Tsunoda delivered the best performance of his career in qualifying with his third place during qualifying for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. The RB F1 driver had almost gone off the track for good a few minutes before but recovered well, while Liam Lawson qualified the other VCARB 01 in fifth place.

“It was very difficult, I had fun. We had a good pace, I made a few mistakes but I was a little lucky. But we did a very good job as a team, Liam too, so that's good.” welcomed the Japanese pilot.

“This track is one of the most difficult. When you start to have a little more confidence, you attack, and you make mistakes. We saw it with a lot of cars and I made a big mistake myself. Fortunately, I avoided the barriers.”

With the elimination of the two Haas in Q1, RB F1 has a big chance to play to regain sixth place in the championship: “I feel much better than yesterday, the car is better, and we are in a good position. We are close to sixth place from Haas so we want to catch them and we will try to maximize the opportunity and score as much as possible.”
