Formula 1 | Leclerc admits he wouldn’t deserve the title this season

Charles Leclerc admits that if he wins the 2024 world championship, he won’t “will not deserve”.

Max Verstappen and Lando Norris are the obvious contenders for the drivers’ title, separated by 52 points heading into the Sprint.

But Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc is just a few points away from that battle (34 points) – meaning it’s mathematically possible he lifts ’s biggest trophy after the Abu Dhabi finale.

“We have to finish this season in the best possible way before thinking about the next one.”

“The drivers’ title is going to be very complicated. If we win it, it’s because we will have been very lucky during the last six races, unlike Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. I wouldn’t wish that on them…”

“We have to win with merit. This year, we don’t deserve it yet, but we are working on it. For the constructors’ title, we are closer to achieving it, but we don’t have the best car. “

“On paper, it’s complicated. McLaren has the best car today, ahead of Red Bull and Ferrari. We are working hard to reverse the trend. I hope from this weekend.”
