Formula 1 | Norris: Red Bull probably had the best team in 2024

Lando Norris is convinced that Red Bull could have won both titles last year if the team had had a second driver at the level of Max Verstappen or at least closer.

Red Bull slipped to third place in the constructors' standings last year despite Verstappen's success for his fourth drivers' title.

The Milton Keynes team have been held back by Sergio Perez's poor form, with the Mexican scoring just 49 points in the final 18 rounds of the season.

It was McLaren who won the constructors' battle by winning their first title in 26 years.

Norris, however, admitted that McLaren's efforts were made easier by the unbalanced duo at Red Bull.

“Red Bull probably would have won the constructors' championship if they had two drivers as good as Max. That's for sure.”

“It's clear and obvious. It shows that as a team they probably did the best job.”

“It's tough for the teammates at Red Bull, Max has proven he's beaten everyone he's faced. It's tough for any teammate he's had.”

Red Bull opted to part ways with Perez at the end of the season, promoting Liam Lawson to replace the 34-year-old driver.

A good choice? Norris doesn't care about the driver situation at Red Bull.

“It has nothing to do with me, I don't care. He can have whoever he wants as a teammate. It's up to us to be strong to counter them if this new duo is more balanced in terms of performance.”
