In La Liga, Florentino Pérez will unsurprisingly remain the master of the White House. The president of Real Madrid, the only candidate for his succession, was re-elected on Sunday for a fifth mandate in a row running until 2029, announced the reigning Spanish and European champion club.

“As there was only one candidacy, (Florentino Pérez) is elected president of Real Madrid”, indicated the club in a press release published after the large victory (4-1) of the “Merengue” against Las Palmas which allows us to return to the top of La Liga. During this match, Kylian Mbappé, deprived of a hat-trick by a few millimeters, offered a recital to his supporters.

A shower of trophies

Aged 77, Florentino Perez has been re-elected as head of the Madrid club continuously and without opposition (2013, 2017, 2021 and 2025) since his return in 2009. The businessman was first elected in 2000 as president of the “Galactics”, who won 2 national titles (2001, 2003) and a Champions League (2002), before resigning in 2006.
