Cadillac has unveiled its livery for the 2025 FIA WEC season, which the brand will contest with the support of the Jota team. The LMDh prototype, previously entrusted to Chip Ganassi Racing, will now evolve under the Cadillac Hertz Team Jota banner, with a still strong presence from the title sponsor of the British structure.
The golden livery will therefore accompany the LMDh prototypes of the American manufacturer, after having previously been seen on the Porsche 963s that Jota had for its customer program in the WEC. Unlike 2023 and 2024, and in accordance with the new rule issued for the World Endurance Championship, Cadillac will now enter two cars.
Cadillac wants to maintain “an undisputed commitment to innovation and performance on the international scene”according to Pere Brugal, general director of General Motors Europe. “As we expand our presence in Europe, this partnership represents a great opportunity to showcase Cadillac’s pioneering spirit in one of the most prestigious automotive championships in the world.”he added.
Although they have revealed the colors of the two V-Series.Rs which will wear the numbers 12 and 38 in the WEC this year, Cadillac and Jota have not yet communicated the final composition of their crews. However, we have known since last November that Jenson Button, Will Stevens, Norman Nato, Earl Bamber, Alex Lynn and Sébastien Bourdais will be there.

The Jota team took possession of the Cadillac V-Series.R at the end of last year and has since carried out two test sessions: a shakedown on the Ring of the Rhine, in Alsace, at the end of November, then a two-day run at the Paul-Ricard circuit in December with a developed prototype. All six Cadillac drivers were present during this test at Le Castellet.
“We are learning a lot but there is still a lot to do”confided Sam Hignett, boss of Jota. “We drove at Paul-Ricard at night and accumulated around 2000 km.”
The next tests are scheduled in Abu Dhabi by the end of January, while the 2025 FIA WEC season begins next month at Losail, first with the Prologue on February 21-22, then with the opening round, again on the Qatari circuit, February 28.
For the first time since its appearance in competition two years ago, Cadillac's LMDh prototype has evolved since the manufacturer took its first technical joker to introduce an advanced electronic systems control package.
