For the 2025 IndyCar Series season, Romain Grosjean is announced as reserve driver for the PREMA Racing team.

Failing to have been able to find a starting seat, Romain Grosjean will therefore serve as reserve driver for the new PREMA Racing team which will make its debut in the IndyCar Series in 2025.

PREMA announces Grosjean as reserve

PREMA Racing INDYCAR Team CEO Piers Phillips presented the preparation process that structured the team and its personnel, as well as the organizational steps taken. The team also revealed its technical and engineering group, led by Technical Director Guillaume Capietto, including high-level experts such as Michael Cannon, distinguished as Head of Engineering.

During its presentation show, the team introduced its starting drivers Robert Shwartzman and Callum Ilott, who will drive the #83 and #90 cars respectively. They were accompanied by Romain Grosjean, presented as the team’s reserve driver. The Dallara single-seaters equipped with Chevrolet engines were also on display, displaying their official liveries.

Mark Miles, President and CEO of Penske Entertainment Corp., welcomed PREMA’s entry into North America’s flagship single-seater championship. He underlined the importance of this step for the team’s international ambitions. Eric Warren, Executive Director of Competition at GM Motorsports, discussed the collaboration between the company and PREMA, as well as the preparations made so far. To conclude the launch event, the team and drivers are now preparing for their first testing session.
