The 2025 season will mark several major changes for Enea Bastianini because while he is leaving the Ducati fold to join the KTM group, he is also parting ways with his long-time manager. Throughout his career, the Italian will have been followed by Carlo Pernat, a legendary and extravagant figure of the paddock who in the past worked, among others, with Valentino Rossi, Loris Capirossi, Marco Simoncelli and Andrea Iannone. But the relationship is now ending, Bastianini having chosen to join the MSM agency to be managed by another luminary, its CEO Enrico Zanarini.
After a decade of working together, Enea Bastianini had already recently hired an agency to manage her personal sponsors, but her sporting career remained in the hands of Carlo Pernat, now 76 years old and recently affected by health problems. .
Also in his seventies, Enrico Zanarini is also a well-known figure in motor sports, a field in which he worked from a very young age. Becoming a manager in the 1980s, he first made himself known by overseeing the career of Eddie Irvine, before continuing his feats of arms with other Formula 1 drivers. In motorcycles, he is best known for his links with Max Biaggi.
“Bastianini has entrusted the management of his career to the international group, marking the start of a new phase in his professional career,” indicates MSM in a press release. “It is up to MSM to manage Bastianini’s performance, on and off the track, focusing above all on the upcoming MotoGP season. Enea’s main objective is to regain a place at the top of the championship: through this collaboration, Bastianini and MSM will work together to achieve this result.”
Enrico Zanarini emphasizes that “Enea’s commitment to racing at the highest level aligns perfectly with the philosophy” of his new agency. The pilot, for his part, sees it as the beginning of a “new and promising phase of [sa] career”. He adds: “With the experience and support of MSM, I am sure that we will achieve great results. As the 2025 MotoGP season approaches, I am more determined than ever to perform at the highest level.”
With this new year, Enea Bastianini becomes a KTM rider, having joined the Tech3 team alongside Maverick Viñales when Ducati chose to replace him with Marc Márquez after his two years on the factory team. He arrived in the group at the worst time, while the manufacturer was going through an unprecedented financial crisis, which left the future presence of the RC16s on the grid unclear.
