Formula 1 | Horner never felt he had to leave Red Bull despite the scandal

Few people would have bet on seeing Christian Horner still leading the Red Bull Racing team at the end of 2024, after the scandal which affected him at the very beginning of the year.

The team boss was accused of inappropriate behavior in and outside the workplace by his assistant. Although this affair has now ended without any charges being brought against the Briton (at least following internal investigations), it had a big effect on the image of Red Bull Racing.

Despite this media storm, Horner held on, supported by the majority shareholders, the Thai clan. And the team also knew how to resist, according to him, to win at least one title this season.

“In tough times and when stones are thrown at you, it really galvanizes a team. I think there was an element of 'Fuck you' from the team this year. Our people were saying, 'We We're a strong team, no matter what you throw at us, go for it'.”

More than once, Horner was called to resign. However, the Briton remained in place.

“I never felt like I had to leave. I believed in myself. I believed in the process. I trusted the process that was scrupulously done by the company and I just had to trust it. “

Horner says he has received a lot of support from his colleagues and those at the top of the company.

“I have received enormous support and support from shareholders and from within the company. The support the team has given me and the welcome they have given me, I cannot I'll never forget it.”
