Journalist

Passionate about football since a young age, becoming a sports journalist quickly became obvious to Hugo. He would later discover a love for the NBA, before exploring other horizons such as Formula 1 and the NFL.

Last Monday, the Elysée unveiled the members of François Bayrou's government, including Marie Barsacq named Minister of Sports. A position for which a parody account had put forward the name of Pierre Ménès. “It’s totally far-fetched,” he assured, mentioning in passing a possible ministerial role in the future.

After several days of negotiation, the composition of the government of François Bayrou was revealed last Monday. We find in particular Marie Barsacq as Minister of Sports, former Director Impact and Legacy of Olympics 2024 and which therefore succeeds Gil Avérous. A position for which Pediavenira parody account on social networks, mentioned the name of Pierre Ménès.

“It’s totally crazy”

« It's not a crazy rumor, it's a parody site which made an artificial intelligence photo where I am in the courtyard of the Elysée shaking François Bayrou's hand. The photo is superb, I find myself extremely elegant in this photo. But actually, it's totally crazy », explained Pierre Ménès in a video posted on his channel YouTubebefore responding to a possible ministerial position in the future.

“I would have the presence of mind to refuse this position”

« I am not interested in the position for several reasons. First of all, I'm not in good health with my knee, that's obvious. And above all, because I don't have the skills. Managing French sport is not managing French football, it's managing something extremely different, it's looking at the Feds, amateur sport, sports that you don't know or that you don't know. I don't like it. I'm not going to lie, it would be a huge honor to be offered this but I would have the presence of mind to refuse this position because I believe that I do not have the skills. », added Pierre Ménès.
