Ferrari will present its 2025 single-seater on February 19, the day after the big F1 75 launch party which will be held in London. The Scuderia will present its 2025 livery on its 2024 single-seater during the event, then unveil its new car.
Asked about the risks Ferrari is taking to try to perform well in 2025 and whether this gamble pays off or not, the team principal was cautious.
“We will find out in Bahrain” Vasseur said. “Sometimes you don’t feel like you’re taking risks and you realize a little later that it was very risky. The car will be completely new. I think we have less than 1% of the common parts that will be retained . It’s a different project, but it’s true for everyone.”
We should not expect public events to present the arrival of Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari. The Briton will test an old F1 car at Fiorano and will also test for Pirelli.
“We need to focus on the season. The period between day one and launch will be very short, it’s a matter of weeks, and I want everyone to focus on performance.”
“We will have the season launch, we will have the car launch. For me it is already two events, and it is way too much. It is quite enough. I want to focus on the performance of the development and not to put on a show.”
Likewise, the Frenchman wants to be cautious about the possible status of Ferrari before the 2025 season: “I don’t care because you can be the favorite in January, February, [mais] If you’re not there for the first race, everyone will forget about it.”
