The UTMB intends to strengthen its environmental actions

Another axis, the compensation of non-reduced, in other words unavoidable, emissions. The UTMB undertakes to cover the contribution linked to emissions relating to logistical travel, teams, volunteers and guests. The objective is to be able to compensate for Scopes 1 and 2, i.e. direct CO2 emissions (energy supply needs during the year and during the event), while starting to reduce part of Scope 3 , which includes indirect emissions (transport, logistics, volunteers, supplies). “ Ultimately, we must achieve full compensation for everything that could not be reduced. », specifies Isabelle Viseux-Poletti. For 2024, this contribution from the organization is estimated between 15,000 and 20,000 euros.
