Formula 1 | Perez insists he will stay at Red Bull in 2025

Sergio Perez has insisted he will continue to remain a Red Bull driver in Formula 1 in 2025, despite growing rumors that the team has opted to replace him.

There is therefore no question of a farewell Grand Prix for the Mexican in Abu Dhabi, who is closed on his position despite the fact that his own bosses have repeated that decisions will be taken on Monday with the shareholders.

The Mexican has endured a disastrous season which sees him 277 points behind teammate Max Verstappen, who sealed the title with two races remaining.

"Nothing has changed since everything I said all year," Perez responds dryly to the speculation.

“I have a contract for next year and I will drive for Red Bull next year.”

Asked if there is a 100% guarantee that he will be present at the season opener in Australia next March, Perez replied: “I already said it, nothing to add. I have a contract for next year.”

Perez reiterated that there was a reason why Red Bull decided to give him a contract extension earlier in the season when asked if he retained the support of the management.

“I think it's just important to stay together. It hasn't been the best season, but, at the end of the day, there's a reason why they re-signed me and they know I can still do it. do and that’s the important factor.”

Perez also claimed that the fact that Red Bull lost the constructors' championship was not due to their results alone.

“Of course I take responsibility for it, but I also don’t think it’s all down to one person.”

“I'm obviously part of a great organization, a great team, and it's a great shame that we didn't fight harder for the constructors' championship.”

“For me it’s just important to focus on the weekend.”

“Give my best for the team and prove to the whole group that we can do it. I think that’s the main goal of the weekend.”
