On the proposal of the Minister of Sports Gil Avérous, multiple Paralympic champion Marie-Amélie Le Fur was appointed this Thursday president of the National Sports Agency.

After being proposed this Wednesday for this position by the Minister of Sports Gil Avérous, the former triple Paralympic champion Marie-Amélie Le Fur was appointed president of the National Sports Agency. The decision was announced this morning in a press release. The former athlete was previously president of the French Paralympic and Sports Committee since 2018. She expressed her satisfaction: “I extend my thanks to Gil Avérous and the members of the Agency for their trust. At a crucial moment for French sport, this nomination honors me as much as it commits me because the success of the Olympic and Paralympic Games must result in a tangible and lasting legacy.

The Minister of Sports expressed his congratulations to the former sportswoman: “In order to write a new page, in a spirit of shared governance and confidence in the sports movement, I proposed the candidacy of Marie-Amélie Le Fur to chair the National Sports Agency. Her experience as an immense athlete and president of the CPSF; his determination to support the sport and move it forward; its commitment to working to open access to the practice to as many people as possible: these are all very important assets for the Agency and for French sport. (…) I know that it will be able to nourish the spirit of dialogue and partnership between all the components of the Agency by strengthening the two main axes of its mission, namely high performance and the development of sport for all . »
