Williams has confirmed that Franco Colapinto has been cleared to contest the Las Vegas Grand Prix race, following his major qualifying crash. The FIA ​​validated the fact that the Argentine driver was in good enough shape to race.

“Following yesterday's incident during qualifying, Franco underwent a thorough assessment by the event medical team today and was cleared to compete in the Grand Prix of Las Vegas” the team wrote.

“Franco's health is our priority and we are relieved that he is fit enough to race after such a significant accident. We thank the medical staff for prioritizing Franco's health and well-being and for the excellent care he received.”

Williams also praised the work of the mechanics who reassembled the car. Colapinto will be able to start from the pit lane as set-up changes have been made.

“We are extremely grateful to our incredible team of mechanics for the hard work they did overnight to repair Franco’s car, as well as to our fans and partners for their continued support.”

“We took advantage of the repair to make some changes to the settings and, as a result, Franco will start the race from the pit lane. We are looking forward to racing the race under the spotlight.”
