Sergio Perez, Max Verstappen's partner at Red Bull, has strongly condemned in recent hours the homophobic comments made by his father Antonio Perez targeting Ralf Schumacher. The latter, a former F1 driver with six Grand Prix victories (1997-2007) and television consultant, came out last July. Recently, he criticized Sergio Perez for his disappointing season (eighth in the Championship and without a victory), which led Antonio Perez, also a politician in Mexico, to make inappropriate comments.
Sergio Perez denounces an error
Sergio Perez has distanced himself, telling Sky Sports: “I don't agree with any of his comments. I think he made a mistake in that regard. I don't share any of his opinions, but at the same time, I don't control what my father has to say. I can only control what I say. »
Ralf Schumacher responded with a message on Instagram, talking about his own experience as a father: “I would also support my son 100% and try to help him. That's what you do as a father. Regarding the style, I would differ, but we know Mr. Perez with all his emotions. That's why I don't blame him. However, I think that the results on the track would be the best arguments,” expressed Michael’s brother on social networks.
