With the affair of the sudden change of race director, the FIA's non-response to the GPDA's letter is another subject which animated the Las Vegas paddock today, causing great tensions.
Lewis Hamilton has warned the FIA that the Grand Prix Drivers' Association “would track down” if she did not receive a response to her public statement.
The GPDA called for transparency on where money from driver and team fines goes, as well as a request to FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem to review his tone and language.
George Russell earlier revealed the governing body was yet to contact the GPDA over the statement.
Hamilton said drivers would not remain silent if there was no response from the FIA.
“If we don’t get an answer, I’m sure we’ll hunt them down.”
“I know they have a lot to do at the moment, but I think it's just to show that more than ever, the drivers are united, which is maybe not something that the we’ve always seen in the past.”
Hamilton added that the drivers simply want to have a closer working relationship with the FIA.
“There are some things that need to be sorted out, and the FIA needs to work better and collaborate with us.”
“We want the sport to continue to thrive and improve.”
“We have nothing to gain from the comments we make about things that can be improved during race weekends, and all we ask is for more communication with us and inclusion.”
