What promised to be a great “popular” celebration is turning sour. The F1 75 Live event, which will be organized on February 18 at the O2 Arena in London (United Kingdom), is already causing controversy on social networks. The reason: the exorbitant prices of tickets… on resale sites. If the 18,000 places available for the ceremony, where the ten teams will present their livery for the 2025 season, all found takers as soon as the ticket office opened on Friday November 15, some took advantage of this strong demand to try to get a ticket. small profit on resale…
The prices of tickets sold on the official O2 Arena platform were between 70 and 135 euros. However, several Internet users have pointed out the amounts displayed for resale on other platforms, with prices easily exceeding 2000 euros, or 20x more than the original prices!
Faced with this uncontrolled resale, both in terms of price and quantity, Formula 1 has decided to react via a press release, warning potential buyers/resellers of the risks involved. “We are aware that a few tickets for our season launch event at the O2 have gone on sale on unofficial websites. We can confirm that this is against the terms and conditions of sale and that tickets purchased on an unofficial resale platform are not valid for entryspecified Formula 1. Working with The O2, we have also identified that a number of these listings are fraudulent.” The discipline also reminded that there is only one official ticket resale platform, on the official website of the O2 Arena.
