75 years of Formula 1, 1122 Grand Prix already contested: the history of Formula 1 already covers three quarters of a century and continues to grow.
And to know everything, to know everything, when you are a fan, you can quickly find yourself discouraged! How many of you have considered buying or even already bought these very big, big and heavy F1 encyclopedias and said to yourself 'Cheer up, I'm going to learn as much as I can about my sport'? And, in the end, they sometimes adorn libraries without really being useful.
This is where we can salute the initiative of the author, Emmanuel Touzot, in having summarized each of the 75 seasons of F1 on 240 pages, with superb photos from the past. How the championship went, the major facts and players, notable rule changes, etc. The book “75 years of Formula 1, Stories of a legendary epic” is prefaced by Mika Häkkinen and edited by Talent.
Having the point of view of a driver, moreover a multiple world champion, regarding what Formula 1 represents is a plus. Each chapter offers a summary of the sporting and political issues of the seasons, but also highlights, while a few boxes develop historical points and anecdotes more precisely.
It is, in our opinion, an excellent book to approach the whole History of F1 without getting discouraged and, then, perhaps dig deeper into several seasons in more complete encyclopedias, covering each Grand Prix and each season in a more exhaustive manner. .
