If they were rivals during the 2021 season, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen crossed paths several times on the track. Regularly cited in controversies recently, for actions on the track considered too aggressive, the three-time reigning world champion has always adopted a driving style considered dangerous. For Hamilton, this behavior has persisted since this famous year 2021, where the title was decided in the last lap.

If he is no longer a rival with Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen has found a new companion in the fight for the world champion title. Alongside Lando Norris, the Dutch driver has had some tough battles on track in recent times, sometimes too much for the taste of certain drivers, or even the race management. If he had not been sanctioned during the contentious actions in Austin, he was heavily sanctioned during the last Grand Prix in Mexico, for having pushed Norris off the track twice. At the center of attention again this weekend in Brazil, his driving divides the competitors.

“I have avoided collisions with this guy many times”

Questioned on the subject, Lewis Hamilton is categorical: the Dutch driver still adopts dangerous driving, and has not changed since 2021: “I don't think you see much difference over the years, from 2021 to now it's pretty much the same. Just go back and listen to some of my radio comments back then”notified the seven-time world champion, referring in particular to the collision between the two pilots in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Max Verstappen had deliberately braked on the straight in front of the Briton, causing a collision between the two vehicles.

“He just brake-tested me”Hamilton exclaimed. “It was dangerous driving. I have raced with a lot of drivers in my life, over 28 years. There are a few at the top who are over the limit. The rules don't really apply, or they don't think about the rules. He crossed the line, that's for sure. I've avoided collisions with this guy many times.”he added after the race.

If he is not concerned by the battle for the championship title this season, Lewis Hamilton admits to not feeling as concerned as before by these incidents.

Max Verstappen remains in his position, satisfied with his attitude and his way of driving, following the advice of people in particular: “Objective people close to me, not people who are there to make things happen”he admitted.
