DAMS will join the FIA Formula 3 championship next year, taking the place of Jenzer Motorsport, which is leaving the sport.
There will be 10 teams in F3 in 2025, which will be the first season to use the new Dallara F3 2025 single-seater. The grid for the climb to the top level series will therefore remain made up of 30 cars next season.
“DAMS is delighted to announce that the team has been selected to compete in the FIA F3 Championship from the 2025 season for the next three years, pending approval from the FIA”the team announced in a press release posted online.
The French team had raced in GP3, predecessor of the FIA F3 championship, in 2016 and 2017. The team won two races and had four other podiums and a pole position. His best finish in GP3 was fourth in the team standings in his first season.
DAMS has a rich history in motor sports and single-seaters in particular and has always been one of the French pillars of the rise to the elite. History begins in Formula 3000 (1989 to 2001). From 2005 DAMS raced in GP2 (today known as Formula 2). The structure associated in many spirits with the late Jean-Paul Driot has won nine team titles since its debut, including two in GP2 Asia.
