Unpaid salaries to Mbappé (ex-PSG player): The LFP will make its decision on October 25

The joint appeals committee of the Professional Football League (LFP), which examined the financial dispute between PSG and Kylian Mbappé on Tuesday, will render its decision on October 25, AFP learned from a source close to the club. The captain of the French team, also targeted according to Swedish media by an investigation for alleged rape in Stockholm, is demanding 55 million euros in unpaid salaries and other bonuses from his former club.

Seized by the Blues striker, the LFP legal commission recommended mediation last month but, faced with the player’s refusal, it immediately asked PSG to pay the 55 million within a week, a decision against which the PSG appealed. The examination of the dispute between the French champion club and Mbappé comes in the context of the opening in Sweden of an investigation into alleged rape after the player and his entourage visited Stockholm last week, the Swedish media affirming that the star is at the heart of the investigations. The Swedish prosecutor’s office did not name any names.

Monday, after initial information on this investigation, Mbappé denounced a “fake news” on social networks, making a link with Tuesday’s hearing concerning his financial dispute with PSG. “I am delighted that so many of you are interested in the decision of this appeal commission.“, declared the player’s lawyer, Me Delphine Verheyden, upon her arrival Tuesday shortly before 3 p.m. at the LFP headquarters in , where many journalists were waiting for her.

This is the news of the day, don’t let yourself be entertained“, she added before entering the building, followed a few minutes later by Me Patricia Moyersoen, the PSG lawyer, who did not make any comment. As they left the headquarters of the body around 4:30 p.m. , the two councils did not make further comments The conflict between the two parties finds its source in the status of an agreement reached in the heart of August 2023 between Mbappé and the management of PSG.

The star striker was then left out of the team for having refused to extend his contract with PSG (this extension would have guaranteed the club to receive the money from a transfer while Mbappé signed free with Real Madrid at the end of last season). In this agreement, the player agreed to waive 55 million in various bonuses if he were to leave free at the end of the season – which he did.

But the validity of this agreement, which the player himself had mentioned publicly to journalists last January, is contested by the Mbappé camp. In his entourage, we talk about a “occult agreement“.
