Michael Schumacher at his daughter’s wedding: when was his last public appearance?

It’s been eleven years since we last saw Michael Schumacher in the media. After suffering a serious skiing accident in the French Alps in 2013, the former pilot was very discreet, hiding his state of health from the general public. And for good reason! If we knew that the athlete had been plunged into a long coma following this terrible fall, we did not really know the consequences of this event. However, some relatives have communicated about the recovery of Ralf Schumacher’s brother, such as the ex-wife of Flavio Briatore, former boss, Elisabetta Gregoraci: “Michael doesn’t speak, he communicates with his eyes. Only three people can visit him and I know who they are. They moved to Spain and his wife set up a hospital in this house.” One of the last public appearances of the “Red Baron” in top form dates back to September 8, 2013, during his participation in a charity football match in Hamburg.

Particularly poor health which would not have prevented him from going to the wedding of his daughter, Gina and Iain Bethke. An intimate ceremony on the grounds of their family property in Majorca during which guests’ phones were confiscated to prevent unauthorized photographs being taken. Confirmed by German media, the presence of Michael Schumacher is unlikely to end up on the front pages of the newspapers. Also alongside Gina, her mother, Corinna, her brother, Mick and her uncle, Ralf (accompanied by her companion, French politician Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne) also enjoyed the festivities in complete discretion.

Michael Schumacher: What was his daughter Gina’s wedding like?

This Saturday, September 28, Michael Schumacher’s daughter said yes to her companion Iain Bethke, after seven years of relationship. A beautiful day which took place in the greatest secrecy, in the Spanish property of the Schumachers, located on the island of Mallorca and acquired in 2018 for the sum of 30 million euros. Dressed in an elegant dress with bohemian accents, the 27-year-old rider exchanged vows with her husband in the afternoon during an outdoor ceremony. A moment that the young woman wanted to immortalize on her Instagram account, where she wanted to declare, once again, her love for the one who shares her life: “Forever yes to you, yes forever” can we read under a photo of the couple.
